Introduction to the writer

Hello! I am a student in my final year of Communication, with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations. I find my major very interesting and I'm excited to start working in the creative communications field. My ideal career would be in an agency; I'd prefer working in an advertising agency over working in the communications department of a large corporation. I like the ability to work with a variety of clients in an advertising agency in comparison to working with just one brand at a large corporation. I would love to work on television advertisements, with print advertisements coming in as my second favorite.

This image is a favorite vintage advertisement of mine. The copy reads,
"Boo! I say to needless care, Which Campbell's Soups will banish;
A daily share of this good fare
And half your troubles vanish."
It is a simplistic, yet catchy Campbell's Soup print ad from the early days of advertising.
One of my favorite television ads is the very recent, State Farm Insurance commercial. This commercial incorporates visuals that coincide effectively with the background song, which is I'll Be There" by the Jackson 5. Ironically, this commercial was scheduled to air weeks before Michael Jackson's death. The fact that this commercial aired exactly after Michael Jackson's death was by chance; yet, this ironic time placement dramatically served as a positive for State Farm's campaign. The audience will easily remember this commercial because it featured the vocals of a recently deceased universal pop star, thus creating an emotional appeal in the audience.
